IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT – Corona Virus COVID-19

Due to Government recommendations regarding the risk of Corona Virus COVID-19 we have reluctantly been forced to suspend our Guest Nights and Singarounds until further notice with immediate effect. Please check the website and social media for news of when we return, which sadly will not be for many weeks. Meanwhile best wishes to all lovers of Folk Music from Burton Folk Club – please stay safe!

Welcome to Burton Folk Club, the latest incarnation of a club with a tradition stretching back more than 50 years. During that time, many famous and little-known acts have performed to audiences of various sizes at a multitude of venues. Many were unknowns who moved on to great success, but far more were just humble troubadours who believed in keeping traditional music alive – for them the song was always greater than the singer.

The club is run by a small committee who do their best to continue booking both new rising stars and old favourites to headline our fortnightly Guest nights. There is also the chance for floor singers to perform in support of our guests, ensuring a wide variety of talent contributes to the evening. In the weeks between we hold our Singarounds, giving opportunity for those attending to perform to one another and anyone else who simply wants to listen. We close throughout June, July and August, splitting the rest of the year into our Autumn and Spring seasons. Please go to our ‘Gig Guide’ for more details.

Our venue since May 2018 has been the Albion Tap House, where a fine selection of beer, cider, wine and spirits are available, as well as excellent food in the busy downstairs bar. We have installed stage lighting and a modest PA in the upstairs Evershed Suite to enhance the natural acoustic sound of our performers. Our capacity is 75, seated mostly at tables. There is a large car park to the rear of the pub and one of the finest beer gardens in the area where, weather permitting, we hold our Summer Garden Party.

We pride ourselves on offering a warm welcome and hope you will enjoy being part of one of our evenings – we look forward to greeting you!
